Deep In The Real Jungle
Chiapas is a big state in Mexico! it has everything, mountains, lakes, jungle, forest, etc, etc. And this time we explore the cold part, San Cristobal De Las Casas. For getting there we go trough the real deep jungle, we drive up and up and up, the view is breathtaking as the curvy roads are dangerous, and for a long time feels like there is no end.
Here are some pictures of the way:
San Cristobal De Las Casas
A big town right in the top of the mountains, here the temperature get to 10 Celsius degrees in the night, it is pretty cool, people loves coffee, the architecture is unique, it has Spanish influence, since this town was founded by Catholic missionaries from Spain couple of 100 years ago.
A Church Town
San Cristobal is full of churches, it is one almost in every block, this give us an idea about the religious foundation of the city, something that has been left in the past, because now every church looks pretty empty. One thing I love about this place is the poetry inclination, you read a poem almost in every corner, there is even a poetry coffe shop.
I personally love this place, the vibe is clean, people are so kind, it is beautiful and very cheap, I like it so much that I would like to come back and live there for a while.
Very much recommended.
El Cañon Del Sumidero
Going down to the other side of the state is Tuxtla Gutierrez the capital of Chiapas, a big metropolotan city, and there is a place called Chiapa de Corso, An old little town that host a big river that with the past of the centuries has made a huge canyon, worth to be one of the wonders of the world, a really impressive power of nature.
Different View Of Mexico
Probably, if you are not Mexican and haven’t travel enough in this country, the first picture that comes to your head when thinking about mexico is: beautiful beaches, long parties with coronas, tequila and tacos. but that is only the beginning, a tiny part of what an amazing country is, full of culture, big food collection and a really large territory that host incredible landscapes.
I very much recommend you passing by at some point in your life, Me myself, I hope in my hearth, one day I am able to explore every corner of my country.
With love
